My Goal
As a child, I always wanted to be a teacher. Three years ago, I was able to reach my goal and now I am a middle school teacher. Because I reach my ultimate goal, I knew that I needed to established a newer goal in order to continue to push myself with my education and my career. I am happy being a math teacher, but I know that I also need to continue to grow as an educator. The reason that I decided to journey throughout the Instructional Design and Technology was for the benefit of enhancing my learning and the opportunity to progress in my educational career. My goal is be actively involved in my learning for next few years and apply my knew profound knowledge in my classroom. IDT will give me that advantage to develop the skills and knowledge what I will need to acquire for my next step as a vice principal and hopefully one day a principal. My goal is to become a vice-principal and transition to a principal. IDT will build the foundation that is required for my success, but I have also be actively involved. However, as I am going through the journey, I will apply these profound concepts in my classroom to help my scholars be successful. IDT gives the tools to help me be successful in my own classroom because it incorporate the discipline of creating a lesson for the students benefits, it prevents me from wasting time. These same tools will enhance the opportunity to one day be a vice principal.
Reflection on learning in the program

This semester, I worked ETEC 5000, 5430, and 5440. All three courses contributed in the new profound skills that will assist with my career. Also, all three courses were hands-on, which enable the opportunity to actually employ what I was learning in my classroom. ETEC 5000 taught the foundations of Instructional Design and Technology. In ETEC, I learned the history of IDT, the definitions of its key terminology, the contributors to the field, and much more. One thing that I really enjoy doing was the assignment to interview an individual who is IDT. I interview a vice principal and through the interview I was able to recognized the skills that I will need when I become a vice principal, I was also able to attach the importance of the new profound skill IDT that are required as a v.p. In ETEC 5430, I was introduce to action research. I used action research to enhance my students engagement in the classroom throughout distance learning by questioning my methods and applying new ones. In ETEC 5440, I formulated a tutorial by applying ADDIE in the process. At the end of the semester, I can say that I have acquired the concepts that will enable to be successful in the next semester and also in the field. I am excited to see what the second semester brings.
